MySpace is an online community where users can create a personal online space with information about themselves, communicate with each other, share favorite music and video content, create events and invite others to attend, participate in polls and start discussions, recommend things they like, etc. Myspace is another famous social network in the world after
Facebook. However, MySpace can also be used to advertise products and services effectively if one conducts proper targeting. Now Myspace is using a brand called myads, it serving the ads through that network.
With MySpace MyAds advertisers have the opportunities to advertise in the form of Pay Per Click banner advertisements. MySpace targeting options allow marketers to tailor a professional and creative campaign to practically anyone on MySpace based upon their interests and location.
Tips for My Space Advertising Campaigns:
- Identify your advertising goals and build a strategy.
- Create an account and optimize it for maximum effectiveness.
- Create compelling ads.
- Do proper targeting.
- Optimize your MySpace page.
- Track your ads’ effectiveness.
create separate campaigns for each of your promotions. This will help you monitor your advertising more easily, and make the necessary adjustments to improve your campaign performance.
When you set your campaign’s dates and budget, the system will try to spend your budget evenly across those dates. Thanks to the functionality called “On-going Campaign and Daily Spending Limit,” an advertiser can easily set up a continuous campaign with a daily stop-limit budget.
You can target your MySpace ads for each campaign to particular age groups and locations. Make sure to focus on targeting age groups and locations that are relevant to the people you want to reach.
When you are done with the creatives and targeting, make sure to optimize your MySpace page, as this is the place where users land after seeing your ad. Your page’s design should help users complete the actions you want.
And finally, tracking your account performance is extremely important in order to identify positive/negative trends and spot out mistakes. After you analyze the results, optimize campaigns to ensure you’re getting a good return on your investment. MySpace does an exceptional job of empowering MyAds customers to receive an analysis of campaign performance. Daily reporting is updated on an hourly basis and has been a core functionality of the product since launch.

Interesting. I guess with better rates, myspace can beat facebook in terms of ads… I’d like to add more to it .. perhaps they should think of more tradtional advertising approaches… When it comes to advertising on the Internet, concepts like AdSense have been extremely popular mainly because of the fact they are easier to use and there is no need to interact with the actual merchant to be able to host the Ad. In case of AdSense, the solution provider (such as Google or Bing) takes care of making sure that the correct Ad shows up in your “AdSense space”. In return they pay a commission. Often this commission is only 30 to 40% of what they actually get from the merchant on per click basis.
Traditional Advertising is a method by which publishers and merchants contact each other directly regarding advertising. Thus, Traditional Advertising helps completely by passing any technology intervention such as AdSense.
